A white, evergreen corn variety. 1848 Heirloom - one of the oldest white sweet corns, tracing back to Native American stock. Developed by Nathan Stowell of NJ. Ears are large, 8-9", with deep, wide kernels in 16-18 rows. Remains in the milk stage for a long time, hence the name “ever- green.” Dependable variety in the Mid-Atlantic. 8 ft. stalks.
This vegetable plant was grown from seed, then transplanted from seed starters.
Plant needs to be repotted to well-draining soil in pot or directly sowed in ground. Prefers bright, direct light -- transplant outdoors when the temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer.
