Philodendron Micans
  • Our philodendron micans are typically +8" (measured at bottom of stem to top of leaf tip)
    Pots are in terra cotta

    Other names include: velvet-leaf philodendron.

A stunning variety of philodendron known for its heart-shaped leaves and velvet texture, and is a low-maintenance, hardy plant that's easy to care for. Leaf color can range from a deep emerald green to bronze depending on lighting. Part of the Araceae family and is native to the tropical regions of Mexico and the Caribbean. Micans can grow in bright, indirect sunlight with well-draining soil and regular watering, and prefer a warm, humid environment.

Not safe for pets; plants are toxic if ingested.

Our varieties are established using a custom soil blend of organic matter and compost.

All of our Philodendron MIcans come from a mother plant that was originally sourced in San Antonio, Texas.

Recommended to water every week, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Also can provide additional humidity to plant, but not necessary. Plant is a vine that can grow along a pole or hanging.

We recommend the plant should change pots when leaves continue to wilt after watering. It's a customer preference. We also suggested refreshing the soil every year or so, regular fertilizing, and rotating the plant based on seasons (i.e. winter months plant will go dormant and need more light, less watering).
