This old-fashioned variety from Tennessee has a rich flavor, hint of smoke, and beautiful color. Very productive plant. "Cherokee Purple" is said to have been given to a Tennessee family by the Cherokees over 100 years ago. With support, the plant can reach up to 6' tall!
This vegetable plant was grown from seed, then transplanted from seed starters.
Plant needs to be repotted to well-draining soil in pot or directly sowed in ground. Prefers bright, direct light -- transplant outdoors when the temperature is 70 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
