CARE
Our varieties are established using a custom seed starter potting soil blend of organic matter and compost.
Depending on the size of the plant when purchased, it will eventually need to be transplanted to well-draining soil in a pot or directly sowed in the ground to reach maturity. Ensure when transplanted that new soil has plenty of organic matter, is well-draining, and that mulch is provided on the top layer of the plant to help plant thrive successfully. Prefers bright, direct light -- transplant outdoors when the temperature is 60 - 75 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer. Can also be sown in late fall for spring germination.
Recommend watering at least once per day in the early morning to establish plant once taken home to be sowed/repotted. When watering, thoroughly soak the plant at the soil level, letting the excess water drain through the pot’s drainage hole or ground soaked deep enough when plant is directly sown. Be conscious of the season; for example, watering more frequently during the summer (even twice a day depending on weather extremes) and the right amount during the growing season based on the plants’ needs and your medium.
We also suggest a frequent organic or natural fertilizer routine during the plant’s growing season spring and summer.
EXTRA CARE
The flowered plant is also used as a cut flower. When harvesting to use as a cut flower, do so in the morning.
Dawn’s Harvest establishes our plants using compost and other organic matter, organic soil mixtures, rainwater, aquarium water, compost tea, and other organic and natural off-the-shelf fertilizers to improve our plants' health and nutrition, sticking to our natural and organic cultivation methods.
